Volunteer

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please fill out the Volunteer Application and Waiver form and send it to Cathy Bester at cbester@upstateforever.org.

You can also become a citizen water monitor through the SC Adopt A Stream program, which is led in partnership by SC Department of Health and Environmental Control and the CU Center for Watershed Excellence. Upstate Forever was instrumental in advocating for a statewide Adopt A Stream program.

Saluda

Saluda Grade Rail Trail

The transformation of this inactive rail line into a 31-mile trail is one step closer to reality. We are pleased to announce that an agreement with Norfolk Southern has been reached to sell the Saluda Grade line.

Conservation success

Six properties totaling 735 acres in Anderson, Greenville, and Pickens Counties were recently protected. These lands will be protected in perpetuity through conservation easements.
